Visa Support Letter Requests
Note: Hong Kong is a visa-friendly destination that welcomes visitors from around the world. Nationals of about 170 countries and territories can visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for periods ranging from 7 to 180 days.
There is no universal ESTA/ETIAS equivalent for visa-exempt visitors, but Indian nationals must complete Pre-arrival Registration (PAR). Taiwan residents also have a special pre-arrival registration arrangement. Mainland Chinese residents, on the other hand, are subject to a different system.
To check whether you need a visa to visit Hong Kong, you can refer to the official Hong Kong government visa webpage: GovHK Visa Requirements.
In case you indeed need a visa, the support letters can be issued to attendees as well as authors with accepted papers, posters, demos, or members of the conference committee.
If you are a recipient of ACM, SIG, or Conference funded travel grant, please include this information in your request.
How to Request a Visa Support Letter
For visa support letters, please complete the following request online: https://supportletters.acm.org/. Please allow up to 10 business days to receive a letter. All requests are handled in the order they are received.
The information below should be included with the request:
- Your name as it appears on your passport
- Your current postal mailing address
- The name of the conference you are registering for. Only accepted authors may request a visa support letter prior to registering for the conference.
- Your registration confirmation number
- If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please provide the title and indicate whether you are the “sole author” or a “co-author”
- Authors may indicate their paper title. If no paper, speakers can provide the title of their presentation
ACM does not provide letters for transport of vendor or presenter equipment. ACM suggests shipping the materials insured to the conference facility.
